LISBOA

Inspired by running, this is the first piece in a new series of larger paintings, where the composition follows the path of a run or walk - in this case an early morning run through Lisbon. With a heavy graphite stick, I trace the route in a single continuous line, capturing the city’s landmarks and contours as I recall them. Along the way, I leave gaps where my memory faltered or where I got lost, intentionally leaving blank spaces. The result isn’t an accurate map of the city, but rather a map of my memory, shaped by what I saw and what I missed.
